Appointments & Rebates

Appointments:

Contact us by phone to book an appointment.

Usually we are able to offer you an appointment in the coming few weeks.

Appointments are typically 50 minutes in length.

Medicare:

Dr Daniel Bowen is a registered provider with Medicare (Provider #: 4888486W). Medicare rebates are available to clients receiving psychological services with a Mental Health Treatment Plan from a GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician. These provide up to 20 sessions per calendar year. To receive a rebate, the first step is to talk with your GP. Your GP will spend some time finding out about your situation and working with you to make a treatment plan. If you are eligible for a rebate and your GP feels it would be beneficial, they will write you a referral to a psychologist as part of a Mental Health Treatment Plan. To be able to claim for your psychology sessions, please bring a copy of your doctor’s referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan to your first appointment with us. Fees and Payment:

Fees for consultations are guided by recommendations from the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

Fees vary depending on your eligibility for Medicare rebates and private health funds.

Clients who would like to attend privately, that is, without a referral, are also welcome.

A pensioner rate is available to clients who are currently receiving a disability pension or unemployment assistance.

Payment can only be made via a payment card (e.g., MasterCard, Visa) at the time of booking your consultation.

In order to secure your first appointment a booking fee is payable.

A cancellation fee of approximately one quarter the consultation fee will be charged for non-attendance or cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice. Cancellation fees are not claimable.

Private Health Funds:

Dr Daniel Bowen is a recognised provider with various private healthcare bodies. If you are not eligible for Medicare rebates, you may still be able to claim from your Private Health Fund with the right level of cover (e.g., HBF, Medibank, BUPA, NIB, etc.). Please contact us to find out more about our fees and your eligibility for rebates. Please check with your private health insurance provider to see if you are eligible to claim for psychological services.

NDIS

Dr Daniel Bowen is a registered provider of NDIS therapeutic supports (Provider #: 4050004452). If you are already registered with the NDIS and have a plan that includes therapy services, contact us and we will take care of the rest. Workers Compensation and Insurance Claims:

Dr Daniel Bowen is a registered provider with WorkCover NSW (Approval #: 14937). After a referral is received we need to confirm with your insurance company that they are willing to pay for you to attend the appointment with us. Once approved, the insurance company will pay in full for you to come to appointments at Dubbo Psychologist.
